Will be tagging our engineer @lpugoy and he will get back to you.

@bignfan: What version of Debian are you using, and what desktop environment?

actual stable version 8.4, gnome
kernel 3.16.0-4-amd64

just installed with the CD1, text installer, standard installation with gnome
added insync, chrome, vmware workstation, xfreerdp nightly (need rdg support)

@bignfan: I see. Please try installing the TopIcons extension to show the tray icon in GNOME (https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/495/topicons/).

Hello!

tried topicons plus… but i cant activate it - i think it needs a newer gnome

i tried then this: https://github.com/mjnaderi/TopTray
because url of topicons didn’t function at the moment (on the link you posted)

unpack zip
go with shell to fo folder
make
alt-f2
r [enter]
gnome-tweak-tool (in shell)
extensions: toptray [enable]

that is it!
