Kubuntu invisible tray icon after upgrade to Plasma 5.6.5

The title say it all, i know that are many threads with similiar problems, but since i didnt found any specific to KDE Plasma 5.6.5 i created this one.
The app works normally, just the tray icon its not showing BUT it works if i click at that blank space where the icon was supposed to be, i already tried uninstall and reinstall the package, no success.

Hi @Jhonny_Rosa, have you tried any of the fixes found here?

I tried all fixes there, none worked.

tagging our engineer @lpugoy check this out :slight_smile:

@Jhonny_Rosa: What Linux distribution and version are you using?

Kubuntu 16.04, the issue started when i upgraded the KDE Plasma desktop and framework to version 5.6.5 through the backports.

@Jhonny_Rosa: I think this is related to https://lists.debian.org/debian-qt-kde/2016/09/msg00053.html. Unfortunately there is no shown solution in that thread. I also cannot reproduce it on my end. The tray icon was shown normally.

$ apt-cache policy plasma-workspace

  Installed: 4:5.6.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu16.04~ppa1

That sounds like the problem. Sad, i’ll wait for the next release then.
