I’ve seen requests for more control over the syncing process, such as prioritizing or editing the queue. Those are already very sophisticated requests in my opinion. I’d like something more down to earth: Being properly informed about what the application is doing, like when I just saved a synced document to disk. To visualize the syncing we now have to click on the Insync icon first. What I am missing is the ability to activate continuous visualization of sync information activity by means of standard pop-up message at the bottom left or bottom right of the screen (think Microsoft Outlook new mail alerts, Facebook new event alerts on the desktop, and so on).
Standard alerts practice (on Windows machines at least) is to show the pop-up message for up to 4 or 5 seconds or something. If subsequent alerts arrive within shorter delays, new alerts push the older ones upward - more or less like the current Insync “Feed” view does. Ideally, on top of the temporary “alerts stack” there is a close button and a minimize button. The minimize button would normally hide the alerts stack until you want to show it again (this would be useful in cases when you know you are uploading hundreds of files - in which case you may temporarily want to get the alerts out of your way, rather than having them continuously disturbing your current activity).
This way Insync would allow us to always keep an eye on what’s happening - which in my opinion is an important feature in a professional tool like this.
