Dual Boot and shared partition setup question

I have a dual boot setup on my laptop (Win10 and Ubuntu 19.10). I have a shared NTFS partition that can be accessed from either. Currently I only have the Insync client installed and running on the windows OS. The synced folder is on the shared partition. It works fine. Can I set up the Insync client on Ubuntu as well or will this cause issues like clobbering files or duplicates etc?

Hi @rfquerin,

We advise against a dual boot setup where both OSes use the same shared folder because it might affect file integrity (ie duplication). This has been a feature request before, and I’ll make sure to include your post as a +1 .

I appreciate how difficult this might be considering how often this is requested, but this would be an instant buy from me as a new customer.

Currently use Manjaro Dual Booted to Windows. My Gsuite Google Drive on Windows is used to sync very large media files 100-200GB ea so duplication would be terrible. But I also use it for my personal files which I mostly access on Linux. Combining the two environments would be amazing.
