Hi @Michael_McTheny, we will have our engineer @lpugoy look into this, but this might have something to do with this particular issue as well? Pantheon Files Integration

@Michael_McTheny What Elementary OS version are you using? Also what is the output when you run insync start --no-daemon on the terminal?

Hi, same issue on elementary Freya… when I run insync start --no-daemon, I get No systemtrayicon available

@roth Please try installing sni-qt.

It’s already installed on my system…

roth, ipugoy… if it’s already installed remove both sin-qt and insync - then you must reboot
once you reboot Elementary os , from the terminal … sudo apt-get install sni-qt insync
then sudo reboot … i’ve tried this with an existing install and a fresh one Twice each… use terminal not the gui to install it and it works everytime

Thanks lpugoy … seriously … i really like insync … works great now on elementary os

@roth Did the steps given by @Michael_McTheny work for you?
@Michael_McTheny Thanks, let us know if you encounter any issues.

Yes, thank you very much, everything is fine now !

When I went to do this I didn’t find a sin-qt package, but installing appmenu-qt did the trick and got the insync applet to show up.

Tried uninstall and install:

@vjunior1981: Which Elementary OS are you using? Did you try installing appmenu-qt?

Installing sin-qt fixed the problem for me too, which leads me to wonder… why doesn’t the insync deb package list sin-qt as a required dependency that should be installed?

@xd1936: It’s not a strict dependency. On some setups the tray icon is shown without it installed. Maybe adding it as a recommended (not required) package could work.

same issue in Elementary Loki, try all previous recomendatiosn and nothing changes here is my output

insync start --no-daemon

@sareak: Please confirm the Insync package you installed by running apt-cache policy insync.

seems that the problem is there

apt-cache policy insync
insync:
Installed: 1.3.16.36155-precise
Candidate: 1.3.16.36155-precise
Version table:
*** 1.3.16.36155-precise 500
500 http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu precise/non-free amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

could you please help to install the correct version?

solved, edit the repository to use xenial packets unistal and reinstall. Still doesnt work the contextual menus but insync is back to life

For anybody else reading this thread the package being referred to is
sni-qt
NOT
sin-qt
