Using the app window
- Open your app window and click on your account
Click on SELECTIVE SYNC
Select the files and folders you want to sync to your local computer (note that if you uncheck a file, it will be removed locally but will remain on your Google Drive)
Click on APPLY CHANGES
On headless, the command is:
insync-headless manage_selective_sync EMAIL
EMAIL is the email address of the account that the user added. So if for example the email address the user added is firstname.lastname@example.org, then the command should be
insync-headless manage_selective_sync email@example.com
Running the command should show an interface similar to the following:
The highlighted entry is the current item being worked on. In the image above it is "accounting". Use the up and down arrows to navigate among the items, and the space bar to choose if the item should be synced or not.
The ">" on the right side of "accounting" indicates that it is a folder. Regular files only are only shown with their names. To show the items under a folder highlight it and press Enter. Backspace will return to the current item's parent folder.
The "[X]" on the left side of "accounting" means that it is selected and that it will be fully synced. A "[/]" like on the "backgrounds" item means that the item will be partially synced, so only some of the items under it will be synced. A "[ ]" means that the item will not be synced.
Pressing ctrl+x will show the menu, which contains options like hiding/showing files, checking all items, unchecking all items, and changing the view to either the "Shared with me" items or the "My Drive" items.
