I setup insync to connect 2-google accounts and later share across the network to a few users on June 1, 2015.
The setup was easy the initial sync appeared to go well.
What I found was the local folders were not matching the google drive.
The sync process eventually did come to a screeching stop when I attempted to reconfig the setup.
The duplication that occurred were consistent in every folder that was processed however the content didn’t fully duplicate.
Overall support is not existing and most of the support issues appear to have no resolve.
I believe this would be ok for small files and a home network only.
I ended my trial with hours of wasted time on June 3rd.
I am finding similar issues. I’ve been using Insync for about 3 weeks now, and syncing is a very inconsistent process. I would consider myself a “power user”, I have a 300 GB Google Drive to sync, and I use it in four different locations. But even after the files are originally synced, if I make a small change (like I did last night on my work machine), it’s a craps shoot as to whether it will sync everywhere else (that one directory’s worth of material still hasn’t synced on my other three machines, 12 hours later).
Support consistently tells me to “be patient”.
I switch to powerfolder.com…it has been very stable and works with every type of device…I moved away from Google Drive and to power folder…for $130 per year I get a TB of storage and great reliability. In addition, I set the PF to work from my server and setup share drives for the inner office usage and mobile links to the cloud for external users.
I can’t move away from Google Drive, that’s the problem. Otherwise, I would have kept using Drop Box. And I can’t use Google Drive’s client because I work in Linux more often than not. Unfortunately, the fact that it’s taking days to sync about 10 MB worth of files (I’m still waiting for all the work I did yesterday at my office to sync…about 10 MB) is getting old.
Hi guys I’m so sorry for the trouble this is causing you, it seems like most of it is stemming from an inconsistent sync. The reason why we kindly ask for your patience is that we have not resolve the bandwidth issue (although being actively worked on by the team for future versions). If you have any specific concerns please forward them to support@insynchq.com and I’d be glad to assist.
