Moving a folder or file locally - what happens?

Hi guys. Insync is doing quite well. I have moved some folders recently and seem to have a lot in my upload queue. Can you please tell me what happens when I do this. The two immediately visible options seem to be:

  1. MOVE (because you have a unique object ID)
  2. DELETE/CREATE

I just wondered if you are telling Insync the folders or files need MOVING in Drive rather than deleting and re-uploading.

Hi @stevebarnes I apologize for the extremely delayed response. I tried moving a folder within Google Drive and it reflected in my Insync folder

I’m not asking whether the change was REFLECTED. I’m asking whether it’s a DELETE/CREATE, or a MOVE/MODIFY.

In my experience, if you move/modify within Google Drive, Insync detects it (movement/modification) and moves/modifies in your local drive. And vice-versa: if you move/modify in the local drive, Insync detects it and moves/modifies in Google Drive. Of course, it is only valid for any movement of folders you make INSIDE the general synced folder. If you move a folder outside the general synced folder, Insync believes you have deleted the folder.
