On Thunar (and I assume on Nautilus and other supported file managers), insync has the fabulous option Copy public link:
which is not available on the Google Drive native interface. It would make it still more useful if it also included an option to shorten the public link, like Dropbox natively does for its public links, or external sites such as DriveURL or gdURL do automatically.
I tend to get the public link from insync on Thunar, open it on Google Chrome, and then run a shortener: it would be useful if this could be done directly by insync, considering that there’s already a Google Shortener API.
