I used the official GoogleDrive program on this computer first and then switched to Insync.
When I installed Insync, I was asked whether to use the old GoogleDrive folder or to create a new one. I opted for the old GoogleDrive folder and now find myself in trouble because there seem to be many permission issues. Files are missing which I can find online when I visit Google Drive. Some files and folders on my computer seem to be write protected, and when I try to change that manually it simply defaults back to write protection.
It seems that using the old GoogleDrive folder just wasn’t a good idea and I’d like to remove it completely and have Insync create a new one.
How to I do that best? Pause Insync, then manually delete the GoogleDrive folder and change settings to the new location Insync is supposed to put the new one in?
Or are there other, better, ways to do that?
What I’ve already tried is simply pointing Insync to a new location (without pausing the sync process). But Insync only seems to copy files from one location to another on my computer, and as soon as a file is write protected it skips. And that’s not solving my problem with permissions, I guess.
Thanks for your input.
