When will the ppa for Ubuntu bionic be available?

Many of us are already doing test installs, and of course I want to include insyc!

@Bill_Miller Would you mind trying out the installer for Ubuntu 17.04 (or 17.10) in the meantime and letting us know if you encounter any issues? We’ll add this to our list and update this thread as soon as test builds are available.

I only have LTS versions (14.04, 16.04, 14.04).

@Bill_Miller Ah, I’m sorry for being unclear, but what I meant to say was for you to download the Insync installer (for 17.04) from https://www.insynchq.com/downloads and try to use that to install Insync on your Ubuntu 18.04 in the meantime.

Thanks for the reply. I already have insync installed and working. I was inquiring about the availability of the ppa so that this install will be kept up to date.

I used the artful repo to install Insync in a new Ubuntu MATE 18.04 (beta) install.

Before that, I did try installing from the bionic repo, but it gave me the following error: “The repository ‘http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu bionic InRelease’ is not signed.”

This means there is no release for bionic.

I’ve installed successfully with the artful release, but the insync client icon does not show up in the gnome menu bar. When I attempt to call up the window by opening the application, it gives the message “another insync app is running, closing now.” Therefore it’s impossible to edit prefs, pause sync etc.

Hi insync team. I tried insync in a fresh install of the daily build of ubuntu 17.10 (artful aardvark) today, since the release is coming up. I installed the xenial .deb. from the repository. Insync installs, runs and works (i can use it in the terminal). However the tray icon is not displayed. Other trayicons (dropbox, variety, etc…) do display. Could you look into this and perhaps fix it? Thanks

So sorry for not getting back to you sooner. We’ve just added Ubuntu bionic repository. You can now install / update Insync through apt-get.

I get the following message when I try to update from this repository -
Err:4 http://apt.insynchq.com/UBUNTU BIONIC InRelease
403 Forbidden [IP: 54.192.2.2 80]

It works for me. I have a file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d called insync.list That file has 1 line in it like this

deb http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu bionic non-free contrib

That’s slightly different from what you have listed, maybe change it to what I have.
