Hey guys, I can’t find an exact answer to expected behavior here. I find that when I’ve used InSync to sync folders between Google Drive and a local computer, the Folder created and modified date seem to be the date I started the sync, but file modified dates remain the original ones, but I can’t quite tell if that’s consistent or not. Is that expected behavior, and can you offer some guidance on best practices to ensure file and folder dates are preserved? Thanks.
Hi @Simon_Wiltshire can you let us know your OS so our engineers can get back to you regarding this?
I’m using Insynch on Windows Server 2008 to sync to Google Drive. Actually I think I answered my own question. I had seen a folder I migrated that had all of the dates changed to the date of migration but I think I may have done that with the original Google Drive (app from Google) rather than with InSync. All other folders I’ve used Insync with seem to have preserved the original file dates.
For reference though, I do use Insynch across Windows Server 2008, Mac OS X Yosemite and Windows 8 on a PC to one degree or another. Great experience so far, once you get the hang of it.
It is the question that I was going to make on this day in 2016! But the technical assistants have said that Insync doesn’t preserve the original dates.
I want to preserve the original dates of my files because it is important for designers like me. It is one of the missing features that Insync doesn’t have. The odrive has it.
