What Does the File Conversion Option in Linux Client Do

Hi

I have not found this topic definitely, yet. Sorry if this has been clarified…

I installed the new InSync client last night on Ubuntu Linux 15.10 Desktop x64. I had the option to convert my Google Documents to other formats suitable for offline editing, such as MS Word or Open Doc etc.

I want to know specifically, if I select to convert to Open Doc, what happens to my original document in Google format? What can I expect to see happen across my vast and complicated folder structures? Will I have duplicate files, one of each format? do I only get ODF on my computer and GDoc in Google or is it all ODF everywhere?

I’m sure this has been asked before but my search on this support site is not getting a specific answer that would make me feel confortable switching this on for all my work going back forever…

Thanks

Gund

Your original document remains as a Google Doc on Google Drive.

So your files in your computer will be in the format you specified, but the ones in your Google Drive should remain as Google docs.

If this isn’t the case, let me know via support@insynchq.com
