Incoming Shares Files Go To Root

I just had a disaster when I checked incoming shares and accepted them. We have multiple collaborators with whom a subfolder of the Drive had been shared. All the files they had created in various folders all went to the root folder of the Google Drive. Now I don’t know where they came from and how to get them back. What do I do?

@Izzy You may use the selective sync option to unselect the shared files/folders to remove it in your local directory.

Let me know if this works. If not, send us an email to support@insynchq.com

Thank you.

Would it be possible to change the default directory for each Incoming shares ?

Hello @fullphil,

Right now, this is not possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

You may need to use the context-specific menu in Windows Explorer or Finder to selectively unsync these files, as they may not appear on the Manage menu in the Insync interface

@Peter_Whitelaw This is a good feature. I will +1 you on this request.

Happy New Year!

+1 on this. i.e. I’d also like to add my vote for a new feature to either:
A) be able to decide where ‘shared with me’ (aka incoming shared files). OR
B) follow google naming and have them in a folder called 'shared with me)

At the moment having them all going to root of insync or having to delect them from syncing is very inconvenient.

thanks and hope this comes soon

+1 for any way to keep all shared documents from ending up in the root folder. It is extremely inconvenient to clutter the root folder with all of these files, not to mention the potential for naming conflicts.
