System tray not showing in Linux mint 17 cinnamon

Hi first post here.

I’m aware that there is a post about this issue here:

But it seems i’m not yet trusted with replying to insync staff posts…

I have upgraded to 1.2.3.35090-trusty
I have sni-qt 0.2.6-0 installed

when i start from terminal with --no-daemon i get this warning:
"sni-qt/2761" WARN 09:22:07.268 void StatusNotifierItemFactory::connectToSnw() Invalid interface to SNW_SERVICE

Hi Emil,

Do you have the system tray applet enabled in Cinnamon: https://mrkr.io/eYy0xYBoaN?

Hi Louis, sorry for the late reply.

No I hadn’t, so easy fix

But now i have problem on my other laptop which is running OpenBox DE.

The icon is showing nicely in the tray. But when i click it, the menu appears off-screen in the top right.
This is unrelated to the position of the panel (i have tried, top and bottom horizontal, and left vertical with same result).
It is also unrelated to distribution as i have this problem both in crunchbang Waldorf (based on wheezy) and in Archbang Linux.

My arch DM is LXDM, think i just used xinitrc for Crunchbang.

Please try this build: http://s.insynchq.com/test_builds/insync_1.2.4.35095-trusty_amd64.deb. It has a fix for the location of the app window.

Thanks

Almost there… It’s functional now, but it’s still not exactly where one would want the menu

Unless i move the panel to the top, in which case it’s perfect

Since I usually prefer the bar at the top, I consider this fixed, though I guess you might still want to fix the issue with bottom panel.

Emil

I see. Could you try these steps shown here to help determine the issue: Ver. 1.2.3, application windows with no borders? Thanks.
