I just installed Insync via RPM on Fedora 23 and see the following in the notification/tray area of Gnome 3.18 instead of the Insync icon:
I can hover over and click on the “blank” area to the right of the “<” symbol to open Insync but this is obviously less than ideal.
In case it’s of any help in tracking down the source of the problem, it seems that the HipChat client for Linux has a similar problem as detailed here:
I have the same issue in openSUSE 13.2. Unfortunately, you don’t have a package to my distro, so I use the fc17 package. Anyway, with this package, insync works well but with no icon on systray (I’m using KDE Plasma 5). I have sni-qt installed and other no-plasma icons works well (dropbox, hp etc).
