Creating new sync folder

When we started with insync, I thought the best plan to get existing files to sync would be to setup sync over a new folder and then move all of our files into that folder. This is still painfully slow so my thought was to start to sync a brand new folder and then upload our current files via web browser which seems quick and then download them back into the sync folder which I am hoping will be quicker than the current sync (do you think this will be the case?). If you think that is a good plan then what is the best way to set sync up to sync to a blank folder on the machine (with the assumption we have many files in our google drive already that we dont want to be removed). Currently if I set it to sync to a new blank folder it warns me that files may be removed (I presume from the remote ie google drive). Is that the case and hence the sync will initially only ever upload files and I cant start with a blank folder and download files?

Thanks

Hi @360 I want to clarify:

Both instances will work the same, since Insync cannot yet control the upload or the download limit of the files. It may be faster to upload the files first via web browser but the downloading time will most likely be the same as the upload time. The initial sync really takes a while and works better if it is continuous but the suceeding syncs after that will be much faster

Please let me know if you have any more questions

No I think you have answered my questions thanks. I was just eager to start using it fully but as the sync will take approx 2 months to complete I was just frustrated but I realise that isnt your fault.

Thanks

Thank you @Nick_Thorley for your support. Have a great day!
