I was organizing my files when I noticed some unknown folders under my local insync folder. Inspecting the content I realized that it was personal data from a person that I don’t know. In the insync app, the folders shows as a shared with me item. I couldn’t find any reference to this folders on my google drive web page. There is very sensitive information on this files and I fear that the same happens to my data. I want to know why this person data leaked to my drive and if ther is a possibility that my data leaked to other users in the same way.
@eduardoportilho: Please note that “Shared with me” of Insync also includes the files that were not explicitly shared to you but you browsed them using the share link. Such files do not show up under “Shared with me” on Google Drive web. However you should be able to search these on Google Drive web.
Kindly right click one of those unknown folders -> Insync -> Share -> Show advanced options. The visibility for them must not be private…
Thanks
I tried to search for some files on Google drive web and haven’t found any of them. Indeed the folders are public but I don’t know the owner and didn’t received the sharing link. Why these folders are being synchronized to my drive? How they appeared on the shared with me section of the insync app if they are not in the shared section of Google Drive?
