Debian Repository Down? [FIXED]

Hi Mia,

Are the Debian and Linuxmint “faye” repositories down? I can’t seem to access them to check for updates?

Thanks!

Also experiencing an issue on Ubuntu 22.04 when trying to run sudo apt update. It fails to reach apt.insync.io

Your domain name insync.io expired on 8/8/2025.

It seems like this happens every year. Why don’t you just renew it for a longer period of time?

Or, and this is a crazy idea, maybe put the expiration date on somebody’s calendar so you don’t forget to renew it. This is really unprofessional.

Same issue on OpenSUSE –

[insync|http://yum.insync.io/opensuse-tumbleweed/rolling/] Failed to retrieve new repository metadata.

I agree. I would suggest moving away from .io domains in general, they were a trendy cashgrab a long time ago. Just use .com, nobody thinks the company is hip and cool because it’s running a .io domain for 4x the price.

Yep, down for me as well:

W: Failed to fetch http://apt.insync.io/ubuntu/dists/jammy/InRelease Could not resolve 'apt.insync.io'
W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

On Ubuntu, getting the message:

The repository 'http://apt.insync.io/ubuntu noble InRelease' is no longer signed.

So there are now 8 threads on this forum regarding the insync.io domain name expiring on 8/8/2025. Not a peep from any mod or tech support person in any of those threads. It certainly would be nice if someone would acknowledge the problem and provide an update for resolution. I’m starting to lose confidence in Insync.

We sincerely apologize for the trouble! I have escalated this issue to our Linux Team and will let you know as soon as it has been resolved.

It appears to be resolved this morning. Thanks Mia.

Thank you for the feedback, @Sam_Crawford!

For everyone’s reference–

We’ve resolved the issue and it shouldn’t happen again moving forward. The fix should take effect within 24 hours. Please let me know if it persists after that.
