Delta Sync for OneNote sync in OneDrive?

Is a delta sync option possible/on the roadmap for the OneDrive sync?

I use OneNote, which syncs to OneDrive by default. My OneNote notebooks are pretty large (200M+ sections). In the “official OneDrive sync client”, OneNote changes result in a small network upload of the delta changes. In Insync, every time I change one bit in a notebook, it has to resync the full notebook section (200M+)! That is a problem since I use OneNote from multiple devices and am on the road regularly enough to make such large syncs very costly.

For now we won’t be able to support it as there doesn’t seem to be a public API for differential sync for OneDrive yet.

@jaduenas, what about now? https://office365itpros.com/2020/04/28/onedrive-differential-sync/

Sounds frustrating dealing with large OneNote syncs on multiple devices. As for delta sync options in OneDrive for OneNote, it’s a good question. Currently, OneDrive’s sync client handles delta changes efficiently, but it seems like Insync might be syncing entire sections unnecessarily. That could be a limitation of their implementation. If you’re still searching for alternatives, I recently found notesonline.com handy. It lets you jot down notes that disappear after reading, which can be handy for keeping things tidy.
