Doesn't work on Ubuntu 17.10

This works for me on ubuntu 17.10!

It looks like at the end of the log it was missing the gstreamer1.0 install which gets removed on 17.10 upgrade.
This fixes that part:
sudo apt install gstreamer1.0

Now I have a new error.

Gtk-Message: Failed to load module “overlay-scrollbar”
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-2.0/apps/mate-panel.rc:30: error: invalid string constant “murrine-scrollbar”, expected valid string constant
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module “overlay-scrollbar”
/usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-2.0/apps/mate-panel.rc:30: error: invalid string constant “murrine-scrollbar”, expected valid string constant
DtsGetHWFeatures: Create File Failed

sudo apt install gtk2.0
sudo apt install community-themes/artful gtk2-engines-murrine/artful murrine-themes/artful

Still stuck.

sudo apt install sni-qt
As found in other threads, this fixed the issue.

It’s working on Xubuntu 17.10, with one caveat: the repositories are not set up. The installation of the test build creates /etc/apt/sources.list.d/insync.list with:

deb http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu artful non-free contrib

but sudo apt update spits this error message:

E: Failed to fetch http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu/dists/artful/InRelease 403 Forbidden

Same results as marcelpaulo and gbolcer. Please update repo.

Right, we will be updating the repo within the week. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Is the artful repo here already?

may I suggest that you should start working on the new build when the alpha/beta is available?
It’s not unexpected. There is nothing as precise as the release date of Ubuntu

A week has passed. Why is the repo still not online? (Not to mention that this thread had started almost a month ago.) Can I get my money back?

Agreed! For a paid product this is past overdue.

When will this be available? It’s been a week since you said “within the week.” Thanks.

Hi Insync Team,

I concur with all the comments above this is a paid product so it raises expectations. Fix the repo asap.
Also be aware :astonished: that development of Ubuntu 18.04 is already started. So no excuse for the next release. :flushed:

Alright, I managed to install the latest insync that was linked from the developer.
Now, for the legacy icon. I have been using gnome shell for a long time and they just removed it with 3.26. I did some digging, and the one ubuntu is going with is this one:
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/615/appindicator-support/

So add this indicator and you’ll have your “daemon” icons there.

Cheers.

Any update on this? When paying for a product, it would be nice to be able to include updates.

Over 2 weeks late an counting… shows how little they care about their already-paid customers.

Hello everyone, we’re really sorry for the delay, but our APT repo has now been updated to support Ubuntu 17.10.

Thanks, @jimperio ! I’ve just upgraded to 1.3.22.36179-artful using the repository.

Hello, on my ubuntu 17.10 I installed gnome shell extension TopIcons , i installed also sni-qt.
I downloaded insync 64-bit but I cannot have panel in upper right corner . I uninstalled and installed again without any success.
Finally, i uninstalled 64-bit and installed 32-bit and IT WORKS at the first time.
I have not any explanation but may be it can help somebody.

The repository doesn’t work for me as of now :

Hi! Can you please try running sudo apt-get update and then installing again? Let me know how it goes.
