Exclude list instead of include list for selective folder sync

Hi all, I used my free trial a couple years back and so can’t test locally but I had a question on how selective sync works when excluding folders. Say I want to sync everything in my drive except one folder. I get that I can select every folder but that one under selective sync, but now if I add a new folder to my drive, will I then have to manually add it to the selective sync list every time as well? Is there any way to exclude just the one folder but have everything else sync?

It is the new Google Drive option to add a Google Photos folder that is driving this request. I like having it available on Drive online, but I don’t want it to resync locally to my computer as well. So I just want to exclude that one folder but keep everything else. If someone knows it that’s possible that would be great. If not, I think it would be a great feature.

@cawright00 Right now, you will have to add it to selective sync if you have a new folder.

But yes, you can exclude Google Photos and keep everything else

Can the “ignore list” be used here? I’m concerned about using selective sync and what will happen as I add new folders …
