Files that are not mine being created by insync

I moved all of my files into a single directory so that I could easily monitor where some strange files were coming from.

A few days later I have 26 new directories with strange names and files in them that do not belong to me.

I had same experience… and I think (not sure, but probably) it was files shared with you from other people in Google Drive. Check “Incoming Shares” and deselect if you find there some stuff. Sometimes, when you download a file from a website on the Internet, in fact, you are accepting a shared file from the source lodged on Google Drive, and then it appears in “Incoming Shares”.

@blurden As @quasaribex mentioned, it’s possible that these are shared files that you’re accessing online, and are then being added to your “My Drive” or “Shared with me”. You can double-check this by looking either in the Insync selective sync settings, or on the Drive web app.
