[FIXED] Insync headless Invalid client Unauthorized error

I get this error when I try to login to my google drive account on insync headless, I have an active subscription until may 3, 2026. Syncing suddenly stopped, I kept trying to pause and resume nothing worked, I quit insync and start again, I get an authentication error asking me to login again, logging again does not work, I get this error:
Sorry, an error occurred: (<HTTPStatus.UNAUTHORIZED: 401>, b’{\n “error”: “invalid_client”,\n “error_description”: “Unauthorized”\n}')

please this is urgent, we have work waiting on this

It has happened to me two times now.

have you been able to fix it?
I have tried on 2 different accounts but nothing is working.

I had to go through the whole Google authorization thing, and it’s working now. Maybe it was a Google issue.

but as far as i understand the client id is something on their side.
how did you do it?

I used the Insync Linux app. I clicked the login button, which opened a browser window at Google. I went through the same procedure as I did when I first connected to Google Drive.

I see, however I use insync headless which takes me to this link:
https://www.insynchq.com/auth
from here it generates an auth code which i use to connect, when i do that I get this error:

That is different from the error I got. I also got an unauthorized error. I should have saved a screenshot.
