Forbidden access to debian/ubuntu Insync apt files repository

My Ubuntu Linux systems can’t download updates from apt repository - at apt update command I got:

Err:7 http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu atrful InRelease
  403  Forbidden [IP: 13.33.76.66 80]

Same with bionic (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS version).

Also when I try to open apt website http://apt.insynchq.com/ in browser - I got the XML error:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Error><Code>AccessDenied</Code><Message>Access Denied</Message><RequestId>3AB6CA185226E83C</RequestId><HostId>YlsM5wMr7Ux+y9bkaqT3xyECdFO8/PZTQFyZnWsNeptPcl/tmpak/CVoXLg7YUG+86uE5rBatZo=</HostId></Error>

At now there are problem with downloading insync-headless via apt repository, described in Forbidden access to debian/ubuntu Insync apt files repository

So I want to download fresh insync-headless.deb package manually, but can’t find the download link in insynchq.com website, there are only InSync GUI version available. Please add download link to InSync Headless version too!

Hey @Murz,

Moved your post to this Topic instead so our engineer @Kurt_Ko can take a closer look. :slight_smile:

Hi @Murz!

Can you double check the contents of insync.list?
There is a typo Err:7 http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu atrful InRelease
It should be artful not atrful

The problem is that I can’t access to repository via browser - At url http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu I got

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Error><Code>AccessDenied</Code><Message>Access Denied</Message><RequestId>4A48FC7D334126F3</RequestId><HostId>+bUWmniDZNZZ+jIc90jb9yqB6iEOCi2pGJqrM7p2RO9lyESHRK7yUYouQCQLg+WFzxh3gB5ubig=</HostId></Error>

Same thing is with http://apt.insynchq.com/ and http://apt.insynchq.com/ubuntu/artful

Right output on those pages you can see on any other apt repository, as example, at http://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/ubuntu/ - users see folder structure and files, can manually find needed file and download it.

Hi @Murz

That is expected when viewing http://apt.insynchq.com via the browser.

If you want to install via our apt repo
You will have to correct the error in your sources.list. Refer to my reply above.

If you want to install manually – (dpkg -i [PKG_NAME])
You can go to https://www.insynchq.com/downloads?start=true
Then select ‘Headless’
Then select ‘deb’
Then select your architecture 32-bit/64-bit

For convenience, here are the links for ubuntu headless
Headless 32-bit https://d2t3ff60b2tol4.cloudfront.net/builds/insync-headless_1.4.9.37127-wheezy_i386.deb
Headless 64-bit https://d2t3ff60b2tol4.cloudfront.net/builds/insync-headless_1.4.9.37127-wheezy_amd64.deb

Ok, thanks for direct download links, but other users must search direct download links to files in this forum manually?

At https://www.insynchq.com/downloads?start=true people don’t see direct links to packages, so users now have no easy way to get direct url for package files, to download it directy into server via command line downloader like wget.

And where can I get links for older (previous) versions of packages, eg 1.3.17? I must divine exact version number?

Much easier for all will be providing directory listing in http://apt.insynchq.com website, like in http://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/ubuntu/

I also have the same problem

Impossibile recuperare http://apt.insync.io/mint/dists/tricia/InRelease 403 Forbidden [IP: 52.216.95.139 80]Il repository “http://apt.insync.io/mint tricia InRelease” non è firmato.

the problem is being solved: the repository for Tricia is not yet ready. They are working on it. For now, in order not to have errors, it is possible to replace in the address of the repository “Tricia” with “Tina” and everything will work correctly.
