Future of Google Drive support in Insync?

Hi,

Over the past few days, I have seen several blog posts [0][1] by app developers facing issues with Google’s new audit requirements for third-party apps with full API access to Google Drive.
Apparently, these requirements include an external audit, which adds additional costs.

What does this mean for Insync and its Google Drive support? Is it affected by the same policy changes?

Hi @hsiktas, thank you for starting this discussion. I’ll forward this to our engineers so we can explore its implications on our end.

Thank you!

Hi @hsiktas

We had completed our application review process and CASA application security assessment (Tier 2) earlier this year as mandated by Google; and we are committed to undertake this exercise annually.

Please find our current annual letter of validation here.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response!

Especially on Linux, there isn’t an equivalent alternative to Insync, so I was worried about its future.
Thanks again for easing my concerns.
