@Ryan: Insync cannot copy the Google format files that are being sync’d without being converted. These are the files with extensions: .gddoc, .gddraw, .gdform, .gdnote, .gdscript, .gdsheet, .gdslide. These files only contain metadata and url of the corresponding Google format file. However, you can move such files within the same account.
EDIT: Insync wouldn’t be able to create the copy of the files corresponding to the .gdlink files as Google doesn’t support it.
EDIT: Insync can now copy the aforementioned Google format files when you copy the local corresponding shortcuts (except for .gdlink) as long as the Google format file is present in your Google Drive.
OK. So if I want to make a copy of a Google Format file, I can’t do it from Windows Explorer?
Is this a feature you can introduce? I’m pretty sure if you use the native Google Drive App for Windows you can make copies of existing Google Format files.
@dschmidthawk This feature has been implemented since 1.2.8, Kindly download and install the latest version: https://insynchq.com/downloads if it hasn’t auto-updated already.
@dschmidthawk: Sorry, I didn’t mention about the .gdlink files. These are the files that correspond to the custom/third party files created on Google Drive. Google doesn’t allow creating a copy of such files via its API, hence that error.
