Google Drive will soon auto-replace duplicate files and folders by links

Hi,

I would like to know what this means for my files when using Insync:

For example, if I sync several folders containing Git repositories from one Ubuntu PC to Google Drive, and sync it from Google Drive to another PC, will I have to worry about repositories containing symlinks or hardlinks instead of files?
This whole thing sounds like a mess that can only cause problems everywhere.
