Google Sheets to ODS LibreOffice function case issue

Hi,

I’ve found that when a Google Sheet cell contains a LET() function, and I have enabled the sync to convert to OpenDocument format, the LET function becomes lowercase, and LibreOffice Calc reports a #NAME? error. Simply changing “let” to “LET” fixes it.
I’ve noticed that if the expression contains other functions, those all remained uppercase, as in the original Google Sheet. Only the LET function became lowercase during the conversion to ODS.

Linux Mint 22.3
Insync for Linux version 3.9.8.60034
LibreOffice version 26.2.0.3 (Flatpak edition)

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Apologies for the trouble! Could you please let me know if this issue happens when you manually download the Google Sheet file as ODS?

Oh, yes it does! Does that mean your doc conversion is actually handled by Google when Insync pulls the files down to my local PC?

Should I file a bug with Google? Or with LibreOffice on poor handling of the function case?

Yes, we use the Google API to allow communication with various Google services and their integration into Insync. We highly recommend filing a ticket with Google first so they can investigate why this feature breaks. They may be able to advise if you need to raise this with LibreOffice.

Thank you!
