How to rename a Google Account and have Insync to follow with the account

Hello,

Our organisation is changing its name and thus it domain name. One of the Google Account we use Insync to synchronize with has about 300GB of files and directories. Also, even if we rename the account the root directory would keep its current name on the local machine.

Is it possible to rename that Google account without having to synchronize from scratch? If yes what would be the best procedure to do it?

Hi there, it is possible, just send us the old account name and the new account name to support@insynchq.com and we can change the name of the account for you without having to re-sync everything

Thank’s for your answer. Is there any planning to do since I would have to rename the account first in Google. Also, the account is used on a file server so it is always in use during the day. Should I plan to do this in the evening where nobody use the server?

Thanks in advance

CMM

I don’t think there should be any conflict but it will probably be safer if you’re gonna do it while no one’s on the server.

Thanks!
