Insync 3.9.6.60027-fc42 does not launch on openSUSE Tumbleweed 20250501

I only just noticed that Insync was not running.

When I tried to start it manually, I got the following output (Segmentation fault).

insync start --no-daemon
Falha de segmentação (imagem do núcleo gravada)

More information to help with debugging.

lsb_release -a

I’ve just installed the fc36 version on Tumbleweed, and it works just fine (except for occasionally deleting all my files :cowboy_hat_face:)

Could you run cat /etc/os-release and send the output?

Also, what desktop environment are you using?

Hello! For those on KDE, could you please try the Fedora 41 build and let us know if the issue persists?

Hello,

Yesterday I saw that a version for Fedora 41 was made available and I installed it on my computer.

The good news: it worked. I can run Insync again.

The bad news: the One Drive sync issue reported here on the forum happened.

Insync started deleting all my local and cloud files. I had to stop Insync, delete all my settings. Restore my cloud files. And now I’m syncing with One Drive from scratch. That’s over 500 GB of data and thousands of files. It will take some time at Insync’s normal pace of syncing a maximum of 12 files at a time.

@marcusgama My deepest apologies for the issue!

It’s interesting that you mentioned that the cloud files were also deleted, as the behavior described here only affects local files.

Please post here if you encounter any unusual behavior while syncing the rest of your OneDrive on Insync.

I thought this was strange too. But since I was monitoring OneDrive via the web, as soon as I noticed that it started deleting files in the cloud, I stopped the sync.

Anyway, I’m now carefully monitoring all the syncs and I haven’t had any more problems after syncing all the files.

Good to hear that things have settled down after the incident, @marcusgama . Feel free to update me here or send an email to support@insynchq.com if you need any assistance.
