Insync Arch Linux Not Starting: Segfault at 730 "error 14"

Hello,

since a couple of days insync is not starting anymore. I get the following errorcode:

segfault at 730 ip 0000000000000730 sp 00007ffed20aad98 error 14 in insync[400000+285000]

Manual or automatic starting makes no difference. It appears that other users in the AUR have already picked up the topic, but are as puzzled as I am. There is currently not even a workaround for this issue: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/insync/

I am using AnthergOS with GDM and Gnome running in an Xsession. Insync ran without any issues just a view days ago.

Thank you in advance,
Holger

I have the same issue. It’s unrelated to the libevent issue since I’m still running libevent 2.0.22.

The issue appeared after I updated the following packages:

[2017-04-05 08:50] [ALPM] upgraded zeromq (4.2.0-1 -> 4.2.1-1)

This means, that it could very likely be one of these:
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded libutil-linux (2.29.2-1 -> 2.29.2-2) (plausible)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded filesystem (2016.12-2 -> 2017.03-2) (plausible)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded dbus (1.10.16-1 -> 1.10.16-2) (unlikely)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded util-linux (2.29.2-1 -> 2.29.2-2) (plausible)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded libcups (2.2.2-2 -> 2.2.3-1) (unlikely)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded fftw (3.3.6-1 -> 3.3.6-2) (unlikely)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded firefox (52.0.1-2 -> 52.0.2-1) (unlikely)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded libmtp (1.1.12-1 -> 1.1.13-1) (plausible)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded libmwaw (0.3.10-1 -> 0.3.11-1) (plausible)
[2017-04-04 08:46] [ALPM] upgraded libwbclient (4.5.7-1 -> 4.5.8-1) (unlikely)
[2017-04-04 08:47] [ALPM] upgraded libwps (0.4.5-1 -> 0.4.6-1) (unlikely)
[2017-04-04 08:47] [ALPM] upgraded sdl (1.2.15-7 -> 1.2.15-8) (unlikely)
[2017-04-04 08:47] [ALPM] upgraded sdl_image (1.2.12-3 -> 1.2.12-4) (unlikely)
[2017-04-04 08:47] [ALPM] upgraded smbclient (4.5.7-1 -> 4.5.8-1) (unlikely)

If I look back a bit further, I also get:
[2017-03-30 08:39] [ALPM] upgraded gpgme (1.8.0-2 -> 1.9.0-1)
[2017-03-30 08:39] [ALPM] upgraded libpng (1.6.28-1 -> 1.6.29-1)
[2017-03-30 08:39] [ALPM] upgraded ntfs-3g (2016.2.22-2 -> 2017.3.23-1)

libpng can be worth a look, but the rest seems rather unlikely. Yet none of these is a dependency of Insync. Maybe its an issue with the filesystem, that could be plausible under certain circumstances.

Ok, fix is out, you can read it up on AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/insync/

The issue is caused by QGtkStyle, run qtconfig-qt4 and change your GUI style to something other then GTK+

It worked for me perfectly fine. I can remember a large upgrade on qt4… Why use qt4 in the first place, it has always been a giant pain :frowning:
