It has just happened twice in just a few days for me: I restart my laptop and after restarting… Insync has deleted a file or folder, for no reason? It’s a good thing I had a local copy of them, because they weren’t even in the bin… Would love to know what happened here !
many users reported this especially with version 3.X… my only advice is to have a proper disaster recovery strategy… insync as well as many other sync software are not intended and are not reliable solution for backups. i run rclone once a day with a cron on my linux main machine for backup purpose.

Could you send your log files to support@insynchq.com with the link to this post? Please include the following files:
- logs.db
- out.txt
- “data” folder
- “live” folder
Let me know as well what your setup was such as:
- Where your Base Folder (sync folder) is located – local computer or external drive
- What the last action was before restarting your computer?
