thanks for sharing this workaround!
I have Tuxedo OS and same problem I had loosed huge amount of time trying to solve it without success.
Thank you very much @Zahrun for this workaround, it worked for me
.
I have the same problem on Pop_OS 24.04. Workaround from above works… but please fix asap!
Same issue here with Pop_OS 24.04 and same workaround. Insync worked fine for days until I set up a few two-way sync with folders under the home directory (~/Documents, ~/Downloads, etc.)… And it continued to work until I rebooted.
Hi @andreTR,
My apologies for the trouble! I am having our engineers investigate this further so we can deploy a fix as soon as possible.
Thanks @mia. From the thread, looks like an issue with Wayland, and possibly Wayland and Nvidia GPUs. Let me know if there’s somewhere I can send more info.
@andreTR Thank you! It’s indeed known that there have been some compatibility issues between Insync and Wayland. I’ll follow up with our Linux team ![]()
Same problem with Pop_OS 24c.04 Cosmic, program appears to be loaded but will not run
@jwzedd, this workaround to start the program works on Cosmic for now.
This bug has been around for a freakin’ year now. Will you ever fix it? This is a joke. I am running pop_os 24.04 LTS and has gotten this error for over a year and no response other than the above workaround.
(base) klaus@slambook:~$ insync start --no-daemon
QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread
/usr/lib/insync/insync: symbol lookup error: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libEGL_mesa.so.0: undefined symbol: wl_display_create_queue_with_name
Sorry but that’s simply not good enough for a commercial product.
Hello @klausagnoletti, the original post reports a similar error message that was addressed by releasing Ubuntu 24.10’s official installer.
However, I understand that you’ve been dealing with this for over a year now and that is incredibly frustrating! Allow me to follow up on this issue for you and the other affected users. Could you run the following commands for more info:
lsb_release -a
apt-cache policy insync
Thank you!
Hello! For users experiencing the Cosmic DE issue, please update to 3.9.7 as mentioned here:
