Insync File Modified Notification

Hi,
Recently I am seeing quite often a file modified popup notification. Its typically on older image files. Examining the file in both remote OneDrive shows no changes. Examining the file locally shows only

exiftool -time:all ./Photographs/2012/2012_03_08/IMG_8809.JPG
File Modification Date/Time : 2012:03:08 09:11:31+00:00
File Access Date/Time : 2025:12:03 13:14:56+00:00
File Inode Change Date/Time : 2025:11:24 11:44:21+00:00
Modify Date : 2012:03:11 15:58:43
Date/Time Original : 2012:03:08 09:11:31
Create Date : 2012:03:08 09:11:31

Note the file modification date is

ls -l ./Photographs/2012/2012_03_08/IMG_8809.JPG
-rw-r--r--. 1 rnc rnc 4049180 Mar 8 2012 ./Photographs/2012/2012_03_08/IMG_8809.JPG

I’ve examined the insync log database and I can see e.g.

NodeUpdate node_id:26203 'IMG_8809.JPG' 97D78D1BE336AADD|97D78D1BE336AADD!147209

I am using on Fedora 42 version
Name : insync
Version : 3.9.7.60031
Release : fc42

Is there a reason InSync is altering the inodes given there are no changes?

Thanks!
Nick

Hi @rnc ! Let me bring this up to our engineers to see what’s causing this interesting behavior.

Thank you for reporting this

@mia Any update on this?

Apologies for the delay! Let me follow up on this.

Hello, @rnc ! Our engineer would like to investigate this further. Could you send your full logs.db to support@insynchq.com, please? You can find file this in ~/.config/Insync.

Kindly include the link to this forums post so we can easily trace the original report. Thank you!

@mia Given Ive sent the logs through has there been any updates on fixing this issue?

Hi @rnc, apologies for the long wait! I’ve followed this up so we can post an update accordingly.
