I’m running Insync on Ubuntu 15.04. I have a number of directories softlinked into my insync directory, most of which were fully uploaded. I have a large number of files totalling several hundred gigabytes of data.
Then last week insync started suddenly losing then “finding” the directories a few minutes later (with the message “Insync has unpaused as directory x has been re-added” or something along those lines), at which point it would try and reupload them or randomly trash files and folders within them, then re-download them as Directory(2). If I hadn’t spotted what it was doing and hauled the files back out of .insync-trash folders I would have lost huge swathes of data. Obviously this is disastrous as this includes work files, music and videos I’ve had for years; I can no longer trust that my precious data is safe with insync unless it’s all backed up somewhere else entirely!
I realised this afternoon that I was several versions behind and updated to 1.2.18, hoping this would fix it, but just now it has done the exact same thing again.
Can you advise on what might be happening and if it can be fixed?
