Insync on ubuntu 16.04

Hi guys, having issues installing InSync on Ubuntu 16.04, is it supported?

Hi Stephan. Out of curiosity what tool are you using in 16.04 to install the InSync .deb file? There was a known bug (quite recently resolved) that impacted installing third-party debs using the GNOME Software Center (rebranded in Ubuntu, “Ubuntu Software”). Try upgrading your system packages and attempting a reinstall of InSync, or install using dpkg or gdebi. Hope this helps, cheers.

Hi Tekstrong,

Thanks for the reply. Yep I used gdebi to install, I can see the package has been installed but InSync is not running. Tried to start the service but no luck. Do you have any idea how I can get it working? Also, version for 16.04 not listed so I am using the 64-bit headless deb package, is that going to work?

@StephanGriesel: Are you getting an error message? Could you paste it here?

Nope no error message, all seems fine after installation. Please see below:

steve@steve:~/Downloads$ sudo gdebi insync-headless_1.3.6.36076-precise_amd64.deb

@StephanGriesel: You installed the headless package. This does not have GUI elements which includes the tray icon and app window. Please install the full package instead. Additionally, use the package for Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty. Let us know how it goes.

Ah is that what headless means!

Ok I have installed the trusty package, the service took a while to start but its syncing now. Thank you.

Ps. The done box does not want to close, had this with previous installation as well.
