I downloaded insync for Mac and it appears to have also installed its own version of Chrome as it launches a separate app which has non of my extensions and is a different version to the Chrome I am using.
Is this normal and why does it do this?

@Simon_J The login window is just a small built-in browser which Insync implemented in order to make the login process smoother. Since the window was created by Insync, it’s easier to retrieve the required permission tokens for Insync to be able to access Drive on your behalf.
We are however now working on using an external browser (i.e., your own installation of Chrome) instead, to resolve some login issues and for greater peace of mind for security-minded users.
Yes but unfortunately when you right click on a google doc to open it via insync it opens your browser which means you need to authenticate again and don’t haven any of the security you have in your own browser (extensions etc).
I think this makes the current version totally unusable.
Thanks
Simon
