I am new to this tool. I tried it for OneDrive Biz support on Ubuntu 18.04. It seems as others have mentioned that the client crashes if indexing too many files (around 10k). This happens super quickly for many users, so that kind of sucks :confused:

Other then that, I think sync icons on folder explorer is not working either (I do not know if this was implemented?).

Also I cannot make the GUI bigger, which is a bit annoying when browsing folder structure.

Other than that, the sync is actually quite fast. I am fairly happy with it.

I was having long log in times (as always?), and they told me to install beta. Unexpectedly system appear to be uploading files instead of just be synchronized as when v. 1.5.7. I decided to kill the app, because the menus were not showing how to get out. Now, It does not open the GUI, I try reinstalling but seems nothing improved. I have no GUI. Ubuntu 18.04

Hi @ferroao,

You might have mistaken our file matching feature for uploads :frowning: Can you let me know if you used our 1.5.7 - 3 migration process?

If you don’t have GUI, can you try clicking on the Insync logo on the systray and let me know if that works?

Yes, I used your migration process. I had no GUI and had to kill systray logo (process) because it did nothing. There was no way I could make insync start again ( tried reinstall). Finally, of desperation, I decided to delete some databases in ./Insync or (.config/Insync) and was able to get GUI again.

After that, uploading and downloading began and worked, but at some point having 2300 still not synchronized files it stopped (zero activity in file bars). netstat showed me, there was not any internet activity by insync. I quit and restarted insync several times and at some point netstat began showing activity.

EDIT: Currently some problems persist.

1 - shared folders (when I am not the owner) and files are not correctly identified or synced. For ex. a folder does not appear in the “shared with me” app section but appears in the drive folder (app) - it does not exist in computer - nautilus - the icon it shows in the app is the blue progress icon, but its files are not being synced. In other case where I have some files which I am not the owner, app tries to upload them (without success) each time insync starts -the icon is the red one -

2 - new and old symlinks are not synced.

I was delighted to see the folder choice as I went to restart syncing, but I said to sync Documents under Documents, then there was no way to update that, so I deleted Documents upstairs in Google and you started trashing my originals. I said to stop syncing but it does not seem to have taken. I had to rebuild my OS, and it is so hard to figure how to reinstall insync and get it to use the same folders to back up to the same google folders, never mind sync the same google folders to my secondary hard drive GoogleFolders directory. You seem to see insync as a way to bring Google Drive down not local folder up! I am going nuts!

When I right click on Nautilus, there is no unsync choice, nothing but view on web. When I right click on the app my folders there is not much help there, either: view on web again or sync. How do I update or delete my choices? You made a runaway engine! I guess I have to uninstall and reinstall or something! No, that was not much help! It seems to be copying everything all over again! Doesn’t it realize the files are already in sync when it starts up?

Insync is crating all sorts of log and out files on my selected sync drive folder, so I think it is thrashing in errors! Where do I go to wipe it’s mind?

Ok, never mind, I sorted it - the installation doesn’t finish correctly when doing an upgrade: so I ended up with 1.5.6 AND 3.0.x installed and that caused the coredump.

First uninstalling 1.5x, and then installing 3.0.13 works correctly, but the installer does give an error about the repo key (and a spurious message about fs.inotify.max_user_watches - should I do something with that?):

FYI to everyone reading, this is still a bug in 3.0.19.
Don’t use version 3 until this is fixed.
Removed and going back to 1.5.7.

@Insynq please change the title of version 3 to BETA and show the buglist so people make informed decision when installing…

Not ready! Too many issues. Menus that brought a lot of flexibility have been removed in the app and also in the file manager… Pushing people to update with such a badly tested software is beyond careless. I can’t wait until Google bring their own solution for Linux users

Currently running v3.0.19.40421 on Ubuntu 18.04. Long time user with no issues on 1.5X (or earlier versions). I decided to make a clean install and let insync 3 just redownload all of my Drive data. However, it is just hanging as far as I can tell, consuming 80-90% of my RAM, and not finishing syncing. Really slow, unresponsive, and just not working. Is there a way to go back to 1.5 until this is sorted out?

P.S. I would provide logs, but currently can’t make it respond…
