Issues Installing insync on Ubuntu Gnome 15.10

First off, there’s no insync release for willy, so I had to install 14.04 version.
Then, I decided to uninstall it due to the following reasons:

  • too CPU intensive
  • no access to any GUI in gnome, so we cannot modify its settings
  • integration with nemo is not possible due to an unknown dependency “python-nemo”
  • integration with nautilus failed

Will be tagging our engineer @lpugoy and he will get back to you

@jean_christophe:

  • For the CPU issue, please send the folder ~/.config/Insync to support@insynchq.com for investigation. You can compress it before sending to save space.
  • The tray icon for Gnome was shown in the message tray in my case. You can also install TopIcons (https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/495/topicons/) to have it show in the upper right area.
  • Nemo integration doesn’t work in Ubuntu Gnome 15.10 because it’s Nemo version is outdated. You can get an updated Nemo package from webupd8’s Nemo PPA (https://launchpad.net/~webupd8team/+archive/ubuntu/nemo). It also provides the python-nemo package.
  • For Nautilus integration, did the package insync-nautilus install correctly? It might also be related to the CPU issue you experienced, please send your logs so we can confirm if this is the case.
