License Question

Greetings,
I am a firmware developer and use Ubuntu Linux exclusively. I purchased a Developer license to use on my home workstation. I use it for personal Google Drive account and a work OneDrive account. That license, if I did it right, is linked to my personal GDrive.

At my work we use office 365 and I personally use 4 different PCs (trying to downsize :grinning:). 3 Linux and 1 (ugh) Windows, I am going to have my company purchase a license for my 4 PCs. I would use that license for the same 2 accounts as my home Developer license. I would have that license linked to my Office 365 OneDrive account.

My questions are…

Is my home license selection correct? Given that the OneDrive account I access is technically part of Office 365 sharepoint. I have no desire to access anything other than files in my own company OneDrive. The difference between sharepoiont and OneDrive is confusing for me. Hey, I’m a firmware developer.

Is the Company license the correct license to have my workplace purchase since the license will be linked to my Office 365 account? I also plan to use it with my personal GDrive account as on my home Developer license. The licensing states unlimited machines and as such I assume that my workplace would only have to buy one license, associate it with my Office 365 account and I can use it on all 4 machines. Is this correct?

Hi @blanco!

Thanks for reaching out about this.

For users accessing/syncing Shared Drives (Google) or SharePoint (OneDrive), a Company plan is required. Note that a Company plan requires 1 work account per license, as shown here:

It allows unlimited machines so you can access your Office 365 (work) account across all 4 machines, however it cannot be used for your personal GDrive account since, as mentioned above, the Company plan is per account.
