"long filename" error when syncing to external drive

Hello!

I just started a trial of Insync to use with Dropbox (on Ubuntu 20.04). Syncing files into a base directory on my main drive works fine.

However, the main reason I’m trying Insync is to work with my external drive - and there I get a “Failed to sync: The filename may be to long…” error, even for as short a filename as “test” (see screenshot).

(Note, re: here, this drive is not encrypted.)

Ideas as to what’s happening here?

Hi @mayhplumb! Hmm, that’s indeed a strange behavior. Could you send your logs.db and out.txt files to support@insynchq.com with the link to this post? Those 2 files can be found in ~/.config/Insync.
