MacOS moving base folder due to delete admin user and create new admin user

Hi,

My MacOS user profile somehow is corrupted and I need to delete the current admin user and create a new admin user.

InSync currently syncs files from /Users/USERNAME1/InSync to Google Drive and I will be deleting USERNAME1.

What should I do such that when I create /Users/USERNAME2/InSync, I can move all files from USERNAME1 to USERNAME2 without duplicates etc.

I don’t have enough space to sync down all files in both Admin accounts.

Hi @sheng!

You will need to copy the application data folder (~/Library/Application Support/Insync) to the same location in Username2 as Username1. But before that, please send us your data folder containing the database files so we can manually edit in the new location for the Base Folder.

Then we’ll send it back to you so you can put that folder in Username2.

Please email the following to support@insynchq.com:

  1. Your data folder found in ~/Library/Application Support/Insync
  2. The full path of your Base Folder (sync location) on Username1
  3. The full path of your Base Folder (sync location) on Username2
