Mouse Pointer Scaling Issue Still Unresolved in Insync 3.9.6 under X11 HiDPI
Dear Insync Team,
Thank you for the security improvements introduced in Insync 3.9.6.
However, I would like to report that the mouse pointer display issue introduced in version 3.9.5 remains unresolved in this new release when running under X11 on HiDPI displays.
Specifically:
-
When hovering over system widgets (outside Insync content of the window), the mouse pointer appears correctly scaled.
-
As soon as the pointer enters the Insync window content (including menus), it shrinks dramatically, becoming disproportionately small and difficult to see.
To illustrate this, I am attaching four screenshots:
-
Two showing the correctly scaled pointer over system widgets.
-
Two showing the tiny pointer within the Insync window.
As someone who interacts with the Insync graphical interface multiple times daily, these pointer scaling issues have a significant negative impact on usability and comfort.
While I appreciate the importance of improving application security, I believe that ensuring a consistent and ergonomic user experience is just as critical—especially for an application that provides a graphical interface for daily operations.
Given the growing share of HiDPI displays nowadays, I respectfully encourage your development team to thoroughly validate the visual consistency and usability of Insync across different configurations—including HiDPI displays with both Xorg and Wayland on Linux—before releasing an update.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Kind regards.
