New Laptop and Google Drive Data on External Drive

I just got a new laptop and my Google Drive Syncs with external drive. What’s the best way to set up so Insync doesn’t create duplicate folders.

If I create a new folder it starts to sync my Google drive data to External Drive but what about the data on External Drive? How does that gets backed up to Google drive.

Hi there, already replied to your email

Hello, I also have a question about syncing an external drive. I just downloaded insync and would like to sync all of the contents of my external drive. Most of it is already uploaded to Google Drive, but there are a few folders that still need syncing. Should I simply select the external drive’s root folder as my insync folder? Will the app then scan my external HD and upload only the local files not currently in Drive?

Is it ok to still run the Google Drive app on my mac to selectively sync the folders I still want stored on the internal HD? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi I would be interested in the answer to this. My old desktop died completely. I know it was the way out so all my data was synced extrernally. Now I have set up insync on my new(er) machine and want to synch to the external drive without creating duplicates. What is the best way to do this? Thanks

I’m interested in the answer too.
