I can run Insync from the command line and it is syncing but I am unable to get the applet to appear in the tray as a normal user.
However, this morning after upgrading I accidentally started Insync as root (bad idea, should have sudoed etc) - this showed the applet. Obviously, I don’t want to run Insync as root and so deleted any config files (~/.config/Insync/). Upon restarting as the desired user, its all working I think except I cannot see the applet. This makes me think it is just a permissions problem but I’m not sure where to look to fix it.
@Tom_B Could you try disabling compositing (Window Manager Tweaks > Compositor) then logging out and logging in to see if there’s a difference? What version of Linux Mint are you using?
Incidentally, switching compositing back on but disabling the indicator application service also works. However, I still have no Thunar context menu. I do have Thunar-python installed…
Would be nice to have it all working but thanks for fixing applet.
Cheers,
Tom
EDIT : FIXED - not sure whether I just couldn’t see it before, but Thunar plugin now appears to be working since addition of second gdrive account. Apologies if wasted anybodies time.
