No way to set up on opensuse 42.1 leap

Hello.
I has used insync successfully in opensuse 13.2 on a Kde desktop.
Now that i ve upgraded to OpenSuse Leap 42.1 on a gnome desktop i can t see the app menu no more.
I ve installed theses packages: 1.3.17.3667-fc20 insync and the insyn-nautilus-opensuse that goes with.
The icon application is showing and i think that is launched but when i click to see the window app menu is only showing 1 second and then close.
I don t see any other way to set up or control my insync account .
Does somebody can help me ?

I reply to myself but i still need help.
In fact insync is not started : when i type insync start in Xterm i can see the process during some seconds and then it is stopped.
I can run insync in root and see the app menu …

Tagging our engineer @lpugoy and he will get back to you.

Thanks a lot. I am sure he will find out what the problem is.

EUh … What do you mean by tagging ?

Hello.
Is there anybody to reply? *

@Yves_Thomazeau: Apologies for not replying sooner. Please stop Insync then run it with insync start --no-daemon on a terminal and redo the operations to see if there are any error messages shown.

@Yves_Thomazeau: I see. What desktop environment are you using? Are you using GNOME, KDE, etc?

Hello. My desktop is Gnome on a leap 42.1 opensuse.

@Yves_Thomazeau: Thanks. I have confirmed the issue and would try to get back to you soon.

OK.
I wait for your answer.

Hello Ipugoy.
I am still waiting…
I am now trying Megasync ans it seems to work well with opensuse …

Hi there, it’s a pity insynchq does not support opensuse “properly”. The problem is they provide a YUM repo for different Fedora releases and as a opensuse leap user you have to “guess” which fedora release matches your suse release.

The trick is to check the glibc version, they must match. You can do this easily on distrowatch. point in case: you have leap 42.1. This appears to ship with glibc 2.19. Now check the fedora distrowatch page. Unfortunately, it seems there exists no fedora version with the exact same glibc version. I would recommend trying fedora 21 since you already tried with 20. In Yast, try adding the following repo by url: http://yum.insynchq.com/fedora/21

I don’t remember having trouble with insync on 42.1 so one of these repos should do the trick

good luck
matthias

HELLO.
Thank you for your help.
The version of Glibc installed on my system is 2.19-22.1
I will try to add the repo you ve showed me and see what happens…

@Yves_Thomazeau: Apologies for not replying sooner. As a workaround for now please run Insync with the --no-custom-folder-icon flag (insync start --no-custom-folder-icon). I’m still looking into the cause but that worked in my case.

@Yves_Thomazeau: From https://doc.opensuse.org/release-notes/x86_64/openSUSE/Leap/42.1/ openSUSE 42.1 has reached the end of its maintenance period. This issue will be put on a lower priority, please try 42.2 instead.

Hello.
I ve finally upgrade to Leap 42.2 and then upload the fedora 23 that works perfectly.
I suggest for the future that your support service publishes the compatibility between opensuse versions and fedora Insync packages.
It will be usefull for many users i think.
Friendly.

I finally ran across this … Agree with Yves post - please provide a table with some guidance of compatibility
