In dropbox/onedrive you can select a file to be “online only” which makes it show in explorer but not take up any space and gets downloaded when clicking on it:
Also i would like to have the option to sync one file after the other as insync syncs files all at once which makes it loose a lot of progress if you turn off your computer:
