I’m happy to discover that Insync’s resync capability during initial setup has improved dramatically in latest versions. Selective sync is automatic and duplicates are not produced.
However, this resync capability cannot be utilized after initial setup is done. Resyncing previously selectively unsynced folders is still a bit problematic. It’d be nice to have an option to enter this “resync mode” after initial setup.
How I imagine this would work:
- User press a button that says “resync folders”
- Insync pauses syncing automatically, prompt the user to move local folders into Insync folder.
- Optionally, Insync prompt the user to indicate which folder in the cloud should be resynced. Alternatively, Insync can determine this automatically like it does during initial setup.
- User press a button that says “done” (done moving local folders).
- Insync starts resync.
