Hello. Running on windows 10 x64, i got a problem (also with google drive), that folders are not seen and synced with my drive. I haven’t found specifically which folder causes the issue, i can probably do that but it’s gonna take time.
I have a Data folder with a lot of subfolders, and everything is 1+tb total (all of the folder). I tried taking folders 1 by one into the drive folder to find out which is causing havoc, but it’s too much time consuming. Anything i can do to fix that or to figure out which folder is causing it ?
I was going to purchase insync to get around my google drive app sync issue, but it seems the issue pertains with it. Thanks,
@Vincent_Forcier: Could you elaborate the “havoc” that is being caused? Are you running Insync and Google Drive both on the same folder? Is so, this is not supported.
Did you do a fresh install of Insync on your Windows 10 machine? Did you setup an empty folder? If yes, then please let Insync download your drive files to this folder and do not move the existing drive files to this folder expecting it to skip downloading such files - this would lead to duplicates instead as the file matching feature is still awaited. It is coming in 1.4 or earlier.
Hello. I have clean installed my pc, and i had a huge (1TB) folder full of small files that was currently being synced to my google drive storage. Now, after clean installing windows, i’m wondering what is the way to go. It took me days to be at the sync point i was (300GB synced…) maybe 10 days or so.
Questions: What is the proper way to sync a huge data amount like that with insync, is it normal that it takes that long?
Also, what do i need to do to ‘resume’ sync so i don’t have to start again from scratch ? Thanks !!!
@Vincent_Forcier: Unfortunately, if you clean installed Windows, Insync’s database files must have been lost. So, now you will have to sync from scratch. Had you preserved Insync’s databases (%appdata%\Insync\dbs folder), you could have resumed from where you had left.
If you have large number of files, initial sync may take long. Kindly let Insync run continuously without pausing in between.
The file matching feature that would allow you to skip downloading of the files that are already present locally is still in the works and being tested internally. It shall be out soon.
